NOT A TRICK, BUT A TREAT

I'm so excited to share these photos with you! Since I discovered this amazing blog, I've been impatiently waiting for Halloween to come. The blog is Adventures in Renovating a Brooklyn Limestone and Stefanie is beyond creative. She started the blog a few years ago to journal the renovations on their home. Here are her Halloween decorations from last year, and yes, this IS her house.

Treat yourself to some Halloween Eye Candy and check to see how she's decorated this year.
Happy Halloween!

SEWING ROOM ENVY

Last week I joined an online community called Etsypreneur. It focuses on lending support and encouragment to artists who are selling on Etsy. I've already received so much in the short time that I've belonged and would highly recommend it to anyone selling on Etsy. One of the things I like about it is that you are able to join smaller groups within Etsypreneur that meet your personal needs for success.

While checking out the blog of another member, I ran across a post she did of her sewing room. Really? Are you kidding me? Just look at that fabric stash. And so beautifully organized. Only in my dreams.
And if the fabric stash isn't enough to make me green with envy, just count the sewing machines! What an absolute delight it would be to have a room like this to create in.
The owner of this creative space is Jeannine from kinderkouture. Have a look at her blog and her Etsy shop. She's one talented lady. Oh, and she does photography as well, selling modeling sessions using her cute daughter as her model. Your are a real inspiration, Jeannine.

A PERFECT DAY!

Today is a perfect day and I'm loving every minute of it. You see, CA doesn't get very many thunderstorms. I've witnessed about 3 in the 7 years I've lived here. Don't get me wrong I LOVE our sunny skies, but a good thunderstorm once and awhile just makes me happy. Today I woke up to the BEST thunder and lightening. It was amazing and took me back home to my childhood for awhile...being all snuggled up in my warm bed with the crashing thunder storm outside. Here was the view out my window... And once I finally got myself out of bed, I went downstairs, opened the patio doors and inhaled the wonderful smell of the rain. Here's my patio...
Now I think I'll make some comfort food before the sun comes out and it warms up again. Hope you are enjoying your weather rain or shine!

OH SO BEAUTIFUL

Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours at one of the most beautiful venues I've ever seen. I was at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California helping a friend of mine who is a wedding coordinator. I grabbed these few photos with my new phone to see how well the camera worked. Well, it was really to see how well I could work the camera. I don't doubt that the wedding photographer will have much better photos, but since you won't get to see his, you're stuck with mine...

The venue overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is breathtaking. This is a portion of the 18 hole golf course. Let me just say, "Lush and green".
Here is the ceremony site before any decorating has begun. In my photo, you can barely see the ocean in the background, but I promise you, it's there.

This is looking up at the reception site from the ceremony site. There's a beautiful patio for cocktails and the view from the reception site is STUNNING.
Here's one of the tables. I wish I would've taken a picture of the whole room, but you know, I WAS supposed to be working.
So there you have it...elegant, beautiful, breathtaking. What more could a bride ask for on her wedding day. Oh, and the weather was perfect as well!

KNITTING UPDATE

I'm sure you've been just dying to find out how my knitting is going. Or IF I decided to even give it a try. Well, I have and here is the pattern that I chose. I know, why not start with something a bit more simple...something without sleeves maybe? Well, I figure I might as well just jump right in and this sweater can't be THAT hard can it? Here's the progress so far. Oh my gosh, the needles and yarn are so thin! They're so hard to hang on to and I keep dropping stitches and having to rip out rows. I'm going to keep at it and am not ready to put up my arms in frustration yet. I'm not saying that day won't come, but hopefully I'll have the sweater done before too long.
In other happenings, I'm doing a guest post over at Queen Bee Market today. It's all about buying handmade this holiday season or better yet making your gifts yourself. Click here to take a look. They also featured me as a vendor on Wednesday so you can give that post a read as well.
I'm off to the fabric store. Have a great weekend!

FALL DECORATING

It's not a sunny day here in CA, it's more like wet and cool. Is fall finally here? After temps in the 80's and 90's recently, it feels so nice to have it cool and more "fallish". Coming from the Midwest, I miss autumn and the beautiful colors that come along with it. Therefore, since it's a bit cooler today I've decided to do my fall decorating. While looking on the internet, I found these inexpensive ideas for using pumpkins.

Love, Love, Love this photo of the pumpkins just spilling out of the fireplace. How simple and unique. Painting a few of them is a great idea as well. I must find me some pumpkins...quick!
This stack of pumpkins would be great on the front steps with my address painted on it. On second thought maybe not. I'd only get to use 2 pumpkins.
I found these photos by just googling "fall decorating" and clicking on the images that appeared. There were dozens and dozens of fun ideas. Have yourself a look and enjoy these colorful days of fall.

YAY AGAIN!! The dates are Friday and Saturday Nov 12 and 13. Click here for more information and directions! Fill your car with girlfriends and have a mini getaway. Stop in and say"hi". I 'd love to meet you!
